it’s a bird, it’s a plane, it’s ponchogirl?
one of the fall season’s hottest trends was the resurgence of the poncho -or as i like to call it “a fashionable cape.” because it’s normal to pretend you’re a superhero after halloween, right?
phew, i’m glad you agree.
anyway, i love when old trends come back in style again because it means i get to squeeze a few extra miles out of an old closet favorite. i found this cream-colored cowl-neck poncho at gap of all places. it was one of those impulse buys that ended up being a pretty savvy purchase seeing as nearly a four years later, what’s old is new again. aside from its ability to make me feel like i have superpowers, a poncho serves both form and function. it not only offers warmth as an extra layer, it also adds dimension to an otherwise boring outfit. though this season in particular saw a lot of bold prints and bright colors, i personally love the classicism of “winter white” because i like to live dangerously. and by “dangerously” i mean, wearing white to a party where red wine might be served (crazy!).
