one of S and my first dates was dinner and a movie. so whenever we recreate it, it always makes me nostalgic for the first few weeks of our relationship (in somewhat related news, we celebrated a whopping 20 months together last thursday! woot!). this weekend, we changed up our usual saturday evening routine of pj’s, takeout, and three epsisodes of house of cards (we’re SO close to finishing up season three, just in time for season 4’s premiere last friday) and opted for pants with waist bands, a movie at the fancy theater, followed by dinner at craftsman tavern, a local haunt in our neighborhood.
i don’t know about you, but whenever i got to the movies, comfort takes top priority. that’s why i opted for these madewell jeans that offer plenty of stretch. recently, i discovered one of their newer lighter washes for spring –the rosedale. it’s the perfect bright blue and a refreshing alternative to the dark washes i usually gravitate toward. i opted for the high-rise cut since it’s one i obviously already know and love. since theaters also tend to be chilly, i paired my new denim with my beloved cashmere sweater and a pair of ankle booties to keep my toes toasty. a unique necklace hand-crafted by my dear friend and the perfect black crossbody bag finished off this effortless date night look.
outfit details:
10″ high-riser skinny skinny jean in rosedale wash | madewell
cashmere crew sweater | everlane
suede booties | sam edelman
“johanna” necklace | natalie borton
“daria” crossbody bag | c/o hobo

Very nice look, and you’re correct… comfort is required for a movie theater. Your spot-on fashion look is just perfect. (Hope the movie was good.)

Thank you! We saw Deadpool and albeit inappropriate and violent at times, it was very entertaining! xo
