as one who is a sucker for ruffles, it would make sense that i’m also a fan of peplum. because isn’t peplum just a ruffle for your waist? exactly. i already mentioned how obsessed i am with j.crew’s latest collection and my wardrobe is quickly becoming proof of that. i have added not one, not two, but four blouses into my rotation (#sorryimnotsorry) but you guys, when you see something you love you can’t always wait until it goes on sale. sometimes you have to strike when the iron is hot and also justify the fact that you can wear said recent purchases on your honeymoon next summer (more about that later in the week!).
j.crew top || gap jeans || madewell belt || urban outfitters sunglasses
natalie borton necklace (c/o, similar style) || similar flats
anywho, in addition to picking up this, this & this, i also added this striped peplum top to my collection. not only does the ponte material immediately make it a little dressier (perfect for wearing to the office!), it also ensures that it will stand the test of time (and many trips through the washing machine). and since i always have my eye out for styles that will pull double duty in my professional and personal lives, it was an easy sell to make it mine.
what i love about navy is how versatile it is for any season. it can be paired with white denim for a nautical/all-american look in the spring/summer and with grey or a classic wash jean (like the one i’m wearing) in the fall. for work, it’ll be perfect paired with a midi skirt or even culottes and a classic pump. the possibilities are endless.
