it’s funny how wardrobe compositions change. a year ago i’d say that my wardrobe could be divided right down the middle -half madewell, and half j.crew. now, i’d say it’s still half madewell but now the j.crew half has been cut in half again -and the brand occupying the void is none other than everlane! with three pairs of wide leg crops, three cashmere sweaters, and a pair of boss boots, it’s safe to say that i’ve developed quite the affinity for the brand and i don’t foresee the love drying up any time soon.
and it doesn’t look like the brand is stoppingĀ any time soon. they just released a new wash of denim, and according to theirĀ “coming soon” tab, there are lots of new pieces heading our way in the first quarter of 2018. here are five things currently idling in my online cart:
wide leg crop pant in ochre || as i mentioned above (and as i’m sure you’ve seen over the past six months), i already have everlane’s wide leg crop pant in bone, surplus, and black. they are hands down the most versatile pants in my wardrobe since i can wear them both to work and on the weekends. so it would make sense that i would want another pair in another color, right? maybe? regardless of the logic, i would love to add another pair in the ochre color -a dark khaki shade. the hue falls into the warmer color palette i mentioned in my 2018 style resolutions post and would be perfect to pair with navy (for the spring!), black, white, and even pink.
wool-cashmere waffle square crew || you may remember this sweater from my christmas list but since santa didn’t bring it last year, it’s still on my radar. from the reviews, it seems pretty thick, so i may wait to order it until the weather turns cooler again, but the way everlane items sell out, it might be wise to snag it now and stash it away. the slightly boxy/cropped cut would be perfect to front tuck into high-waisted jeans. throw on a pair of d’orsay flats and some tassel earrings, and i’d be good to go.
high-rise skinny jean in black || though the modern boyfriend silhouette didn’t end up working for me, i haven’t ruled out everlane denim just yet. in fact, i’m currently eyeing the high-rise skinny version in black. while i love my madewell black jeans, i’ve noticed they aren’t fitting as closet to the body as i’d prefer. these seem to have a bit more structure and a bit more stretch, which may offer a more flattering fit. i’d probably get the regular length since i’m tall(ish) but they also come in ankle length.
foldover crossbody || i’ve touted crossbody bags as my go-to travel purse for their petite size and hands-free convenience. everlane’s version would be the perfect one to stash away in a suitcase for our next trip. the natural color is so chic, it would look just as good with a sweater and jeans as it would with a cocktail dress and heels.
perforated leather street shoe || over the years, i’ve attempted to find the perfect to/from barre shoe. is it a flip flop? is it a tennis shoe? lately it’s been a vans slip-on which is great, but in hot weather, i’d rather have a shoe that breathes a little. enter this perforated leather shoe from everlane. they’re definitely a splurge, but with how often i’d wear them, they’d pay for themselves 20 times over. i’m eyeing this blush-toned pair. the great news is that they’d look adorable with a pair of jeans and a t-shirt or my favorite joggers.
