summer may still be a few months away, but as far as i’m concerned, i’ve discovered a little slice of the season with my new pair of madewell’s perfect summer jeans.

after starting to tire of my skinny jeans, i had been itching to try a new silhouette. enter the perfect summer jean -a “mom jean” style (for lack of a better term) with a high-waist and a straighter leg, in the quintessential light wash. after consulting the over 300 reviews on madewell’s website (side note: reviews are SO helpful, i never purchase something without first reading them!), sizing seemed to be unclear (some said they ran small, others said they were true to size), but ultimately i ended up going with my regular size (26). when they finally arrived, i must say, they fit like a dream! i had forgotten what denim without spandex felt like 🙂

you may remember a similar version of this shirt from this post. i loved it so much, i ordered it in the navy and white striped as well. the combination of navy and white with the lighter wash jeans makes me feel all the spring feels, guys. i’m just really looking forward to warmer weather and longer days, aren’t you? but until that glorious spring weather comes our way, i grabbed my faux fur bomber jacket (similar) before heading out the door to stone brewery, the location of saturday’s weekly date night. stone holds a special place in my heart not only for their delicious brussels sprouts and their picturesque gardens, but for the fact that it’s the place where S and i held our rehearsal dinner the day before our wedding.
