this friday, i’m in love with…
peony season! || no explanation needed. when the perky posy starts popping up in my instagram feed, i know i need to run, don’t walk to trader joe’s to get my hand on a bunch or five. what is it about peonies that makes the world a brighter place?
denim skirts || last month, i declared my growing interest in adding a denim skirt back into the rotation after a decade’s plus hiatus. since then i still haven’t quite found one i love. but jen’s recent post reminded me to keep up the search and i think i’ve narrowed it down to my top three: this one, this one, or this one.
opalhouse for target || i’m a little late to the party on this one (per usual), but now that i’m in the throngs of browsing home decor, i recently discovered (and fell in love with) the newish opalhouse line at target. one of my favorite interior designers, emily henderson recently featured rooms on her blog of which she outfitted with exclusively opalhouse products and the results are beautiful! see them here & here. below are a few pieces i’m currently coveting from the collection (and hope to snag in person this weekend):
in my online shopping cart: light-wash button-fly jeans (my girl, natalie just got them and i think i might need them, too!), white blouse (actually just received it this week and it’s perfect! will feature it on the blog soon), fringe sweater, bow leather flats, wide ribbed sweater, sleeveless chambray dress, patterned leggings & peach blouse
favorite outfits from the week include: kendi’s ruffles on ruffles, jen’s jean skirt, julia’s jumpsuit & shannon’s all white look
a sneak peek of what’s coming next week:
what to wear on memorial day (how is it already NEXT weekend?!)
i have big plans for our master bathroom/tub
a peek at the target haul we’re planning over the weekend (have you shopped their new opalhouse line yet? i’m kind of obsessed)
three things i’m looking forward to this weekend:
moving boxes over to the NEW house!
date night here
browsing target & home goods for decor/storage (first project is organizing our master bath & closet)
and in case you missed it, here’s what appeared on the blog this week:
the olive jacket you need in your closet
shopping for artwork for our new home
i’m not gonna lie, i feel really accomplished this week. since learning that we’d finally get the keys to the new place on wednesday, i’ve successfully set up all of our new utilities, updated our address at every institution i can think of (i updated my address on madewell.com first because priorities) and cancelled our cable at the old house which was so much harder than it should have been. after weeks of having the move feel like it was a lifetime away, we’re down to the home stretch and it feels exciting and overwhelming and surreal all at the same time. we hadn’t anticipated being able to get into the house this weekend so we’re going to take full advantage of that by moving over smaller boxes now so we can employ our professional movers’ time wisely when they arrive next saturday (the 26th). for someone who hates things in disarray, this timeline feels so much less scary than having everything be thrust upon us all at once. hoping to start unpacking some of the boxes in the kitchen and bathroom to make it feel a little more settled and then moving onto the closet once we pack up some of our clothes. hopefully you enjoy these home updates because there’s a lot more i’d love to share. i’m hoping to document some of this weekend’s shenanigans on instagram, so be sure to follow along if you aren’t already.
otherwise, have a fabulous weekend! i’ll see you next week!

And so it begins… moving can be so exciting… and you’ll have date night to celebrate everything you get done.
Love your colorful post. I like the sleeveless chambray dress. And the decor line at Target should offer you some things to purchase at a reasonable price, or at least give you lots of ideas. The color tone seems right in line with the tone you both have selected for your new home.
I’ll see you on Instagram!!!

Exactly, we have the carrot to keep us motivated. It’ll be so nice to get so much done this weekend before the movers come next weekend. We’re happy to have the extra hands, too (my parents are helping). /I also love the chambray dress! Thinking I might wait until next weekend to see if there are any good Memorial Day sales. And my mom and I are venturing to Target on Sunday so hopefully we can take a peek at the Opalhouse line in person.
Happy weekend! We love you!
