this friday, i’m in love with…
fairytale pumpkins || i ran into trader joe’s yesterday and was immediately greeted by a giant pumpkin display featuring my favorite variety –fairytale. they just have so much more personality than the traditional squash. i plan on making a repeat visit this afternoon to pick up a few (in a variety of sizes) to adorn the house. i can’t wait to turn #casaderivera into a fall wonderland.
stay here || per the recommendation of my hair stylist, S and i binge-watched stay here, a netflix original show chronicling how a designer and a real estate expert help property owners turn their short-term rentals into mega moneymakers. if you’re into home makeover shows, i highly suggest this 8-episode series -and each episode is only about 30 minutes! p.s. i want to stay in the palm springs house.
our new dining room rug || i’ll share more about our latest house purchases in the next casa de rivera update, but in the meantime, i wanted to tell you how much we love our new dining room rug from -where else? target! it’s plush, a nice quality, and pleasantly more muted than it appears online. we chose the 7′ 10″ x 9′ 10″ and it’s perfect given the size of our dining room. if you’re in the market for a new area rug, it’s a good one. and it’s currently on sale!

fitting room fables || j.crew september 2018
week two of retirement was just as lovely as the first and i’m starting to feel like i’m settling into my new normal. this past week was especially enjoyable for the fact that i was able to make lunch dates with a few of my favorite ladies and i was reminded just how good time with girlfriends is for the soul. anyway, we have a relatively relaxed weekend so i’m looking forward to a little QT with my number one and getting some rest before a pretty packed week.
on another note, i’m having a ball connecting with you more on instagram through my styling stories. thank you for all of the wonderful feedback. i plan on continuing them -especially as we approach sweater weather because it’s been a minute since i styled heavier knits! until fall temperatures return, however, my next styling session will involve my two pairs of overalls, so stay tuned!
