this friday, i’m in love with…
my ava frames from warby parker || as you know from tuesday’s post, i used warby parker’s home try-on service to assist me in finding the perfect pair of prescription glasses to help with my astigmatism. despite lots of wonderful feedback from my instagram community, i couldn’t seem to find a winner from the five frames i sampled so i headed to the warby parker store at our local mall for further assistance. there i was able to try-on additional styles -most notably a few pairs from the brand’s wire frame collection. turns out the subtle frames were much better suited for my face and ultimately i settled on the ava frame in rose gold. the price of the frames also includes the prescription so warby is going to take care of contacting my optometrist to obtain the information and will ship my glasses straight to me within the next two weeks! the whole process has been so fun and easy, i seriously can’t recommend them enough.
my madewell oversized denim jacket || despite not being super successful on our shopping trip two weeks ago, i did manage to score a new denim jacket on my mom and my girls’ day out. i had seen the oversized silhouette on a fellow blogger and loved the idea of a longer hemline, especially as we transition into cooler weather. usually oversized or more masculine cuts don’t work on my frame, but i was pleasantly surprised by how flattering it was once i tried it on. i ordered a small so that i’d have room to layer thicker tees and sweaters underneath. recently i wore it over the above swing dress and loved how it added an edge to an otherwise very feminine vibe.
hearth and hand with magnolia holiday collection || target just revealed chip & jojo’s holiday collection and i want one of everything! as you know, it’ll be our first holiday spent in #casaderivera so i’m excited to shop for the perfect holiday decor to fill our home. right now, i have my eye on this advent calendar, this garland, and this wreath. these mugs are also REAL cute, too.
in my online shopping cart: stores are starting to release their holiday collections and i’m SO excited, i can’t wait to see everything that is to come. in the meantime, from abercrombie, i love this feminine sweater and these jeans, from aerie, i want all the cozy things like this jumpsuit and this henley sweatshirt (in mustard, of course), and finally, ’tis the season for a metallic shoe and currently i have my eyes on these glitter mary janes and these gold mules.
favorite outfits from the week include: liz’s perfect fall outfit, ashley’s sweater collection, jess’ floral coat (really all the outfits she’s sporting while in finland), lisa’s rust-colored sweater & kendi’s striped knit
a sneak peek of what’s coming next week:

the best swing dresses for fall*
*also, as a follow-up from last week, this dress was a miss BUT this swing dress (worn above) was a big winner in the polka dot print! stay tuned for a full post on it next week.
p.s. my collaboration with scenery bags had to be tabled for another week. it’s coming soon!
three things i’m looking forward to this weekend/next week:
a dental cleaning (i love the dentist!)
stopping by natalie’s style event at madewell tomorrow (looking to snag this top)
a barre + lunch date with my cousin
and in case you missed it, here’s what appeared on the blog this week:

despite having more free time this week, somehow i don’t have a lot to show for it -at least blogwise. i blame halloween. speaking of the spooky holiday, i experienced my first batch of trick-or-treaters, really ever (we never got them at the condo), and had a delightful time. unfortunately (or fortunately for my husband), we have SO much leftover candy! i must have overestimated how many kids we’d get knocking on our door. oh well, i’ll plan better for next year!
it’s hard to believe we’re rolling right into november but i for one am excited for the holiday season to begin. i’m usually a stickler when it comes to celebrating christmas, giving thanksgiving its time to shine before turning over the decor, but with a new house to adorn, i think the christmas celebrations are going to start much earlier this year. speaking of the holidays, i have some fun stuff coming next week that i can’t wait to share. i’m also contemplating doing more holiday-related posts with gift guides and outfit ideas -is this something you’d be interested in seeing? let me know! otherwise, don’t forget to fall back one hour on saturday, we get an extra hour of sleep but lose that precious daylight. here’s to eating dinner at 4:30 p.m. because it feels so late. wait, i already do that now.
see you next week!
xoxo
