i always feel like this time of year can be weird in terms of shopping -despite it being the heart of the season, summer pieces start to go on sale to make way for all things fall (hello nordstrom anniversary sale). i would be lying if i said that fall isn’t my favorite time of year to shop and dress for, but i’m also well aware of the fact that cooler temperatures aren’t arriving any time soon. so lately i’ve been trying to be mindful about stocking up on summer pieces (some of which are on major sale) that can serve me now, while also keeping an eye out for great transition items to carry me into fall. here’s what i’ve ordered this month so far!

the homeruns:

beautycounter the clean deo deodorant || okay y’all, i feel like i’ve tried a dozen different natural deodorants and nothing has worked as well as the toxic stuff. while i had been using kopari’s coconut deodorant for a couple years, i never found it to be that effective in stopping the stink -especially during pregnancy and postpartum (hormones are wild). ENTER beautycounter’s the clean deo. hands down this is the best natural deodorant i’ve tried! it is spendy for a deodorant ($28), but it’s important to maintain as clean of a beauty/skincare routine as possible so to me, it’s worth it! it comes in three scents -fresh coconut (which is the one i have and it smells like a tropical vacation!), soft lavender, and clean rose.

madewell puffed small hoop earrings || if you know me, you know i pretty much wear my oversized pearl earrings every. single. day. i even wore them on my wedding day, that’s how much i love them. lately, however, i’ve been wanting to find a fun alternative for everyday wear. while i shop for madewell for clothing (and occasionally shoes), i had never really shopped there for jewelry. turns out they have a great collection of classic gold pieces! i fell in love with these puffed hoops and have been wearing them non-stop. they look way more luxe than their under $25 price tag, too!

the misses:

target kona sol gingham bikini top + bottom || after seeing this adorable gingham retro-looking swimsuit on amaris of @lovelyblondecloset, i ordered it immediately. talk about #targetdoesitagain. unfortunately, when i went to target’s website, my size wasn’t available in the bottoms so i decided to order one size up from there (i always size up one size in bathing suits since they tend to run small) and prayed they wouldn’t be too big. when the pieces arrived, the top fit great (i was able to order my regular size) but as feared, the bottoms were too big. when i tell you this might be one of the cutest and most flattering suits i’ve ever worn, i’m not exaggerating. bathing suit shopping is hard, guys! i am so sad that ultimately this set didn’t work out because i felt like a little retro barbie sporting it around my bedroom. anyway, if your size is available, i highly suggest you try it. do it for me!

mango babydoll collar blouse || as i attempt to fulfill my goal of filling my wardrobe with more romantic white tops, i recently ordered this pretty little blouse from mango. when it arrived, it was a classic case of the item on the website didn’t quite match what i received. i realize babydoll collars can read very juvenile (the word “baby” is in the title!), but this one was quite extreme. it was a mix between something more suited for delilah and a doily. needless to say i returned it the next day. i’ve purchased quite a few pieces from mango lately (they’re still having a great sale), and with so many of them being misses, i’ve never been more thankful for their generous return policy!

and what has yet to arrive:

lou & grey striped cozy cotton terry sweatshirt + shorts || as you know, i own a similar set in both cream and terra cotta, so when this set went on sale for SIXTY percent off recently, it was a no brainer for me to scoop it up! i have no problem stocking up on pieces like these because they serve me all year round. not only that but in addition to wearing them as a set, you can mix and match the sweatshirt and shorts separately.

lou & grey ruffle terry sweatshirt + pants || here’s one of those items that i purchased in anticipation of fall/winter. i have been eyeing this set for a while. i actually bought the pants earlier in the summer but returned them because they were comically big. so when they, too, went on sale for 60% off, i decided to throw the set in my cart as well. i made sure to size down in the pants and ordered my usual size in the sweatshirt (love me an oversized top). i love the rich green color and of course, the ruffle detail (duh) and think it’ll be a great option for both lounging around the house and running errands with the twins (paired with my converse!) come cooler weather.

mango ruffled sleeve dress || i loved this dress so much in the beige print that i decided to order it in green, too. i’m a firm believer that if you find something that works, you should buy it in multiple colors! the green is a bit outside of my normal comfort zone, but i think it could be really flattering on my skin tone (i’m hoping it makes me look tan). did i mention it’s on sale?

mango organic cotton ruffled dress || yes, yes, i ordered another dress from the mango sale. i recently saw this blue beauty on one of my ultimate style crushes (@sarahshermansamuel) and it looked so flattering on her i had to see what all the fuss was about. i can easily see it transitioning into fall with a pair of booties and a felt hat. i am just so obsessed with the neckline, fingers crossed it’s as good in person as it appears in pictures!

i get a small commission for purchases or clicks made through links in this post. thank you for supporting the brands that keep this blog up and running.
