if you’re a regular madewell shopper and aren’t part of their insider program, you’re missing out! all you have to do is register your email and you’re automatically eligible for a myriad of perks -including an exclusive discount during your birthday month. another perk is access to their twice-yearly insider sale currently running through september 20th. all insiders can enjoy 20% off (while stars & icons snag 25% off) nearly every single thing in stores and online. if you’re looking to add a few new pieces to your fall wardrobe or simply love window shopping, i’ve rounded up my favorite 11 pieces with ideas on how i’d wear/style them:
francis tall boot || a good pair of boots can last you a lifetime. case in point, i’ve had my frye ‘campus’ boots since college (we’re talking FIFTEEN YEARS!). these boots are gorgeous and while an investment, would be a great item to snag at a discounted price. i can think of at least 10 ways to wear them -pairing them with dresses, skirts, over leggings, and skinny denim.
(re)sourced quilted jogger sweatpants || if there’s anything i can’t get enough of (i blame quarantine and postpartum life), it’s a sweatpant and/or sweatshirt. and don’t get me started on a matching set. give me all the cozies please and thank you. bonus points if you can dress them up and wear them out into the wild. if you haven’t noticed, quilting is a BIG trend for the fall and present in many pieces from madewell’s current collection. i love the look of these joggers and how the quilted fabric sort of elevates them. i’d pair them with a puffed sleeve henley and white converse for an easy mom-on-the-go outfit. throw on my new puffer and voila, i’m ready for fall weather. speaking of puffers…
austwell quilted coat || i have no use for most outerwear living in san diego, BUT if i lived somewhere with true seasons, i’d be adding this longer coat to my cart ASAP. i love that it’s kind of a statement on its own and could be easily thrown over a simple white tee and jeans to create a complete cool weather outfit. the faded mauve is such a pretty shade, too! i’m kind of into pale pink for fall…
drapery quilted bib top || see how much quilting is in this post?! i think i’m destined to add at least one thing with the trendy detail this season! perhaps it’s this top. i love how it’s a fresh take on a white blouse and can easily see it worn under overalls (can’t wait for these to arrive!) or paired with my beloved wide leg crop pants.
a-line mini skirt in parisian ditsy || i usually steer clear of mini skirts (modest millie over here), but this one is so cute and flirty and i actually saw it in person and it wasn’t as short as i feared when i held it up to me (the twins revolted when i tried to take them into the dressing room). i actually love how it’s styled on madewell’s website -with a white tee and loafers. throw on a puff sleeve cardigan and you’re ready to go!
lightspun millbrook puff-sleeve peplum top || i will say, i’m a little nervous to welcome peplum back into my life because i wore it a lot during pregnancy, but i love how feminine yet classic this top is. it would be perfect paired with a winter white jean and a leopard flat.
kickoff trainer sneakers in suede and nubuck || i’m so boring when it comes to athletic shoes, i’ve worn the same adidas black trainers for the past five years BUT i’m very intrigued by these neutral-colored sneakers and the fact that i could wear them with both leggings and jeans. i have no idea how comfortable they are but man are they cute!
MWL betterterry henley sweatshirt || i literally have a sweatshirt almost identical to this (in two colors!), but you guys, i could easily justify needing another one in my wardrobe. i love the heather grey shade (it comes in four colors that are all beautiful!) and would throw if over black bike shorts or front-tuck it into my distressed straight-leg jeans.
full-sleeve pintuck ruffle top || i recently shared a very similar top from anthropologie on my instagram stories and received a few messages asking for a link. the reviews mentioned it was short, so i’m wondering if this madewell version with similar detailing and silhouette offers a bit more length. as you know, a romantic white blouse ALWAYS catches my eye and i actually saw this one in person at the store and it’s beautiful. i’d wear it under my black skinny overalls (straight-leg version) or with my wide-leg cropped denim.
claudie lugsole mary jane || so i feel like mary janes can easily go juvenille but there’s something about the more rugged sole of these that makes them feel a bit more edgy and grown-up. i love the idea of adding a strappy flat to my fall shoe collection and already have the cutest parisian-inspired outfit in mind -these mary janes, with my slouchy boyfriend jeans, puff-sleeve striped top, and a bold lip. ooh la la.
textured dot wrap midi dress || and last but not least, this is the kind of dress i’d wear weekly if i still worked in an office setting. it would be perfect with a ballet flat and bare legs in early fall and worn with tights and tall boots once the temperatures dropped.
