well it looks like christmas black friday came early this year because madewell just announced that they are offering 30% off (typically their most generous discount of the year!) EVERYTHING* now through monday. just use code OHJOY at checkout.
i definitely have about a dozen things idling in my online shopping cart at this current moment all of which i could easily justify having a home in my closet, but i’ll do my best to practice restraint before checking out. i think…
anyway, while i do that, here’s a peek at what i have my eye on and a few style suggestions for each piece!
corwin pleated straight pants || okay so these pants might be the one thing i will most assuredly be purchasing from the sale. i mean, the silhouette looks *chef’s kiss*, doesn’t it?! i have seen this style pant circulating my explore feed on IG lately and it has been giving me all the inspiration to snag myself a pair and create some seriously cute winter lewks. off the top of my head, i’d pair the pants with my puff-sleeve top, v-neck ruffle sweater, and vintage sweatshirt.
glenridge shawl-collar cardigan-coat || living in san diego, i don’t really have the need for a proper winter coat so i much prefer coatigans (coat/cardigan hybrid) for easy layering once the temperatures drop. this shawl cardigan-coat would be a fabulous option for a more temperate climate to pair over long-sleeve tees, blouses, and even dresses. while the deep green color is beautiful, i think the neutral option would be more versatile in my wardrobe.
reversible sherpa puffer jacket || we love a garment that can pull double-duty! this part sherpa, part puffer jacket looks like the perfect over piece for your athleisure wardrobe. throw it over your workout clothes on the way to or from your favorite exercise class or atop your favorite matching set for a quick dog walk around the neighborhood.
asherton waffle henley sweater || if you know me, you know anything with the words waffle and henley in the title immediately has my attention. this sweater looks effortlessly cozy and chic and i’d pair it with my favorite distressed denim and converse sneakers for a no-fuss mom-friendly i’m-ready-for-the-park look.
lucie long-sleeve smocked midi dress in wool gauze || full disclosure the “wool gauze” has me feeling a little leery given my visceral reaction to this sweater last week, but i can’t deny the fact that i love the light-grey hue and the feminine silhouette. i actually love how it’s styled on madewell’s website –with combat-style boots and a flannel tied around the model’s waist to add a bit of edge.
satin bow statement earrings || you know i love an oversized bow so it should come as no surprise that i’m smitten with these statement earrings and the idea of wearing them with my signature topknot. i’m probably tempting fate by wearing these around the twins (mama, let me yank that out of your ear!), but they’d be so fun to sport for the holidays -even with a simple white tee, jeans, and ballet flats.
the (re)sourced sherpa mini sling bag || we’re (thankfully) getting to the stage where i don’t need to carry our large diaper bag around with us everywhere we go so i’ve been on the lookout for a smaller bag that can be worn as a crossbody, backpack, or even (don’t laugh), fanny pack. a shoulder bag gets hard when you’re literally chasing two babies around the playground so this cute little sherpa friend would be the perfect size to wear across my chest to house my phone, wipes, and of course, lots of snacks.
silk pajama shirt in bloom dot + silk pull-on high-rise straight pants in bloom dot || hello chicest pajama set i’ve ever seen! you know i’m a sucker for a matching set and this silk patterned number would be so pretty to sport for a NYE party with these glittery flats. not only would you be the coolest person at the celebration, you’d for sure be the comfiest, too. bonus points for being able to wear these pieces separately well into the new year.
striped saunter lounge set || speaking of matching sets… this one would be perfect for sipping coffee in and watching the babies open presents on christmas day. it comes in a red or green stripe so you can choose which color you prefer to sport for the holidays (i’m partial to the green myself).
corduroy puff-sleeve wrap top in oval dot || i actually was [ ] close to trying this cute top on the other day when i stopped by the store to peruse the sale section. i am kicking myself now that i didn’t because i have a feeling it would have been really flattering on. the corduroy trend is still alive and well and i love how the texture adds interest to what would be an otherwise simple wrap top. honestly, this top would be perfect with the aforementioned hero pants or with my yet-to-be-found faux leather pants as well.
harlow wide-leg pants || while i’m still partial to these, the harlow wide-leg pants also caught my attention if only for their beautiful waistband. if you work in an office environment, i think these would be a power player in your work wardrobe. pair them with a simple turtleneck and heels for a chic meeting-appropriate look or a ruffled sweater and statement flats to add a feminine flair.
aviator blue light glasses || though i no longer stare at a computer screen all day, i do look at my phone a LOT so i’ve been contemplating pick up a pair of blue light glasses to give my eyes a break. i LOVE the aviator shape of these wire frames and how studious they might make me look, lol.
the jeanne slingback flat in glitter + (and also in lizard embossed leather) || i couldn’t not include these glittery slingbacks, of course! i’ve owned a few different pairs of glitter flats over the years and i *think* they might be a bit too juvenille for me at this juncture but i can admire them, right? in owning previous pairs, i know how precious they are and how they might not be the most practical option with two tiny humans running around so i might opt for the embossed leather version instead. look at me being responsible.
pleated statement-sleeve top || whew, we’re at the end! if you’ve made it this far, congrats! aside from the pants (i can’t shut up about them!), this statement-sleeve top is most likely the other item i’ll realistically end up purchasing. while the black would be the most versatile, i love the asparagus color for something a little different, plus it might be flattering on my skin tone? anyway, with the discount, it’s a steal and would be a great staple for the fall/winter. pair it with denim, a leopard midi skirt, wide-leg crop pants, or drum roll….THESE PANTS! okay, i’m out!
