if ever there was a workhorse in your closet -it’s the humble little black dress (or LBD as i like to call it). over the years, i’ve owned many intimations of the wardrobe staple, but until very recently, i didn’t have a current version that i loved. as i was perusing the mango mid-season sale, i stumbled upon this ribbed midi dress. at under $35, it was a steal, but more than that, i was particularly drawn to its classic design and flattering cut. i could already see it styled a handful of ways in my mind so i decided to treat myself and crossed my fingers it was as good in person as it appeared online. when it arrived a few days later, i was pleasantly surprised. it’s flowy without being a paper sack and shows off my figure without being completely body con. it’s kind of the perfect dress! so to prove its versatlity, i wanted to showcase it in a styling session -particularly with ideas on how to incorporate it into your fall wardrobe.
a quick note about sizing for mango. as it is a european brand (based in spain), i’ve found the sizing to be a bit different than ours. i’m typically a size 2 across the board and i order the 4 at mango. so as a standard rule of thumb, i would size up one size from your normal american size. there’s also a size chart on the site that can be helpful as well.
anyway, below are six looks to provide inspiration as you think about remixing your closet’s most versatile item for fall:
